A coating on your vehicle is highly beneficial as a protective layer on the top coat of your vehicles paint. As well as improving the overall appearance it protects against chemical staining ie bird droppings, tar etc, oxidation, UV damage and helps keep your car cleaner for longer.
I offer three different types of paint coatings. Wax, liquid polymer sealants and ceramic coatings. Each offer different degrees of protection and durability
Waxes typically last up to 2 months depending on the conditions and are a natural product. Liquid polymer sealants can last from 4-6 months and are artificially engineered products that form a semi permanent bond with your vehicles clear coat layer. Finally, ceramic coatings (see full details below) are the most durable and can last from 1-5yrs+
A ceramic coating is applied in liquid form and cures to form a hard protective layer on your vehicles top coat. It is typically composed of Silicon Dioxide (SI02) which is sourced from natural materials such as quartz and sand. It forms a semi permanent bond with the vehicles surface once cured leading to many advantages:
It can also be applied to alloy wheels, plastic and glass surfaces.
I like to think of ceramic coating as the difference between a Teflon coated frying pan and a non coated pan. Odd comparison but have you ever tried cleaning dried food from a pan that doesn't have a coating?
The coatings I apply can't be compared to the products main dealers supply. These are not ceramic and wont last as long. I also spend more time in vehicle preparation which is paramount to the coating lasting it's advertised lifespan. Even new cars will need a degree of preparation before coating application.
The ceramic coatings I use are produced by Gyeon and CarPro . Highly recognised brand leaders and a worthy investment for your vehicle.
